Lagos State police have arrested a mother on a charge of child abuse after she allegedly burnt her daughter’s private part because she came home late from school.
A concerned source who disclosed the brutal attack said the woman resides at No. 27, Prof. Adenusi Street, Aga, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The Trent learnt that victim’s stepfather was away from home when the attack took place around 6pm on Friday, November 27, 2015.
According to the police, the 11-year-old victim came home late because she was playing with her friends.

She was however, confronted and brutalised on return by the mother who has not been named.
It was learnt that after the victim had told her mother that she played with her friends for several hours before coming home, she grabbed a hot iron and burned her private part.
The victim was taken to a doctor who subsequently reported the abuse to the police before the woman was arrested.
Meantime, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer is yet to confirm the incident.
