Sylva is the candidate for the All Progressives Congress while Dickson is flying the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The Survey Administrator, Election Frontline, MacPepple Joshua, in a survey result released last week, predicted Sylva’s victory over Dickson.

One is dead and the other in exile, but the shadows of former presidents Thomas Sankara and Blaise Compaoré loom large over Burkina Faso as the country chooses a new government on Sunday.

Nearly 5.5 million people are expected to vote in presidential and parliamentary elections to replace the interim government that has ruled since a popular uprising forced Compaoré out of office more than a year ago.

“This is definitely the most open election since the country’s independence,” analyst Cynthia Ohayon told Reuters. “You actually don’t know who is going to win, even though there are front-runners.”

http://www.newsline247.com/2015/11/we-cant-make-you-kogi-governor-elect.html
The All Progressives Congress (APC) running mate in the governorship election in Kogi State, Mr. Abiodun Faleke, is not disposed to the party’s choice of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as replacement for the late Prince Abubakar Audu.
Faleke yesterday wrote a second letter to the party’s national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun in apparent reaction to the APC decision to pick Bello to replace Audu ahead of the supplementary election scheduled for this weekend. He insisted that he is not prepared to give up his ‘mandate’ for any reason whatsoever.
He said he is the rightful person to step into the late Audu’s shoes, and pleaded the application of the ‘doctrine of necessity’ used in the crisis that trailed the demise of President Umaru Yar’Adua in 2010.
The letter came on a day supporters of the late Audu took to the streets at Itobe in Ajaokuta Local Government area of the state protesting against Bello’s choice.
The protesters blocked the bridge across River Niger which connects areas in Kogi Central, including Anyingba and Dekina.

David Mark Should Go Home And Rest. Nigerians Speak

http://www.newsline247.com/2015/11/david-mark-should-go-home-and-rest.html
The court of Appeal sitting in Markurdi has nullified the election of Senator David Mark.

Granting the applications of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Benue South, Mr Donald Onjeh, the Appeal Court ordered that a fresh poll be conducted within 90 days.

Reacting to the news on social media, many Nigerians applauded the decision of the court. See their reasons from their comments below.

One commenter said, Nobody dey even hear him voice for Senate. Is like he became fed up as a senator when his party failed to produce majority, thereby denying him the SP.

Another stated, Good decision from the court. He should go home and rest after 16 years as a senator. It’s time for a younger leader to represent that district in the senate.

Yet another comment, It is high time David Mark hang his boots. l wonder what he will in the coming campaigns be telling his people he would do for them that he failed to do as Senate President for 8 years and his non contribution in the present senate will not help him!

And another, DAYBREAK 2015!
Fellow nairalanders, please join me to celebrate the liberation and emancipation of my people ‘The Idoma nation’ on this day that the cry of the oppressed has been answered in the appellate court.
This is indeed a victory for democracy and a damn of a new day!

I Have Killed Up To 34 Of My Colleagues. Ex-Cultist Confesses

http://www.newsline247.com/2015/11/i-have-killed-up-to-34-of-my-colleagues.html
29- year- old Levi Imoter was a notorious cultist for over 10 years.  He  engaged in the worst crimes imaginable, including armed robbery, and operated from Benue, through Bauchi to Borno.    In this encounter, he recounts how    he led many university undergraduates into cultism  and armed robbery; his waterloo during a robbery operation in Maiduguri;  life in prison and  how his death sentence was reversed through divine intervention.    He says he would spend the rest of his life preaching the mercy and love of God through Jesus Christ who delivered him from the jaws of death. He is the brain behind  Renewed Mind Foundation International.
Excerpts:
How did you begin the journey into cultism?
I was in JS.S 3 in 2002 at the  Federal Government College, Vandeikya, Benue State. At the time I was initiated, I never knew that I was entering into cultism.

Those days, we used to break bounds. We would scale the school fence. I was actually initiated during the period known as “mock extension”, where  JSS 3 and SSS 3 students would  stay back in school. I was initiated by my seniors. They loved me, always took me out and bought me drinks and cigarettes. I was introduced to partying. On one occasion, they took me to a party and, from the venue, somewhere in the bush.

Nigerian Police Take Us As There ATM Machine. Lagos Sex Workers

http://www.newsline247.com/2015/11/nigerian-police-take-us-as-there-atm.html
Lagos sex workers in Mushin, have cried out over fees being paid to Policemen. Some of the ladies in the illicit profession told a Punch correspondent who visited the area earlier in the week that much of what they earn these days go to policemen who come in weekly to collect compulsory ‘settlements’.

According to a handful that interacted with our correspondent after they were assured their identities won’t be revealed, each lady pays between N7000 and N8000 every week to the leader of the hotel where they ‘hustle’. The fee, they revealed, covers rent for the week and ‘tax’ for the police among other such bills. The pressure of meeting up with such weekly obligation is taking its toll on many of the prostitutes who prospect for clients in Empire. One of the ladies whom our correspondent chatted up at ‘White House’,said

“Whether you work in a week or not, you must pay the regular dues to the head of the hotel,” . “Each of us who ‘hustle’ here pays N8000 every week to our boss who then ‘settles’ the police from it after removing money for rent and other levies. We are over 15 ‘hustling’ here and if you calculate what the police is making from each of us every week, then you’ll see that they are the ones benefiting from our ‘hard work’. If we fail to ‘settle’ them, they’ll come in to harass and intimidate us.

“For the eight months that I have worked here, I have seen a lot of things. It is just as if we have become ATMs for the police; we are like a source of income or a money pot for them. Just to meet up with their demand and avoid harassment, most of us now have to work more than we should. It has not been easy in recent times,” she said.

INEC SHOULD INSTANTLY DECLARE WADA WINNER OF THE KOGI POLL. PDP

http://www.newsline247.com/2015/11/inec-should-instantly-declare-wada.html
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare Idris Wada, its candidate at the last inconclusive Kogi state governorship election as the winner, National Mirror reports. The opposition party has therefore dragged the federal government, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and INEC, to court over plans to substitute the candidacy of late Abubakar Audu in the election. The party took this decision after an emergency national caucus meeting in Abuja on Thursday, where the party also argued that the proposed supplementary election would no longer be necessary as APC is not backed by either the constitution or electoral laws to substitute its candidate within the election period.
