In Nigeria, the agbada has traditionally been viewed as a style for men, but these days, much like the English suit, women have co-opted the agbada to make that in-your-face fashion statement at events. The flowing gown has been paired with stilettos and gele for that more feminine look.
The dashiki, however, is a more unisex affair. Once a fashion item in the sixties and seventies, it has been given life again in 2015.
