Lawmaker cries out over deplorable state of Lagos/Ibadan Expressway (Photos)

The federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency in the house of representatives, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina has passionately appeal to the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), to focus on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

Lam-Adeshina who described the road as a looming danger because of the bad portions of the road and frequent accidents, also charged construction giant, Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) handling the road project, to expedite action on the road.
He made this known in a press conference at his campaign office today. He said, “Very recently, I embarked on a thank you and consultative tour of all communities within my constituency as part of the electioneering promises I made to regularly meet with them to discuss the progress and development of every community, as such like every other Nigerian, we made use of the express road and were locked in traffic gridlock due to the bad portion at the Boluwaji-Sanyo axis of Ibadan where deep gully erosion is about cutting the road into two thereby becoming an eyesore to the country”

“My interaction with our people (Ward 11 of Ibadan South East Local Government) resident in these areas shows a complete neglect from FERMA despite several appeals and letters written, decried the inability of the agency to come to their rescue.
“I also want to use this medium to call on RCC; the contractor handling the expansion of the Oyo State axis of the Lagos Ibadan express road to urgently repair the deadly potholes within Ibadan, make it motorable and save road users from the agony of wasting their precious time in traffic snarl.” He equally appealed to residents around the Soka, Sanyo and Boluwaji areas and road users to exercise patience while driving as “we expect FERMA to rehabilitate the bad portions within the shortest period of time as we draw the attention of the agency to the socio-economic challenges posed to the nation by the incessant traffic jam caused by the damaged section of the road.”
“Let FERMA see this appeal as a wake-up call to their constitutional responsibilities that requires palliative and proactive measures to forestall imminent danger which I personally do not pray or hope for,” he concluded.

He also used the media parley to assure his constituents that hope is underway, stressing that very shortly he will begin to implement all his campaign promises that will bring about the long desired change to the federal constituency.
