The Chairman of PDP National Caretaker Committee, Alhaji Ahmed Markafi, has said that the party under his leadership is not party to a suit against some judges, who delivered judgment on the party.

Makarfi’s position is contained in a statement issued by Dr Ibrahim Umar, his Special Adviser, in Abuja on Wednesday.

Makarfi said his attention was drawn to publications that the PDP had sued Justice Ibrahim Auta and Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court for delivering judgments against the party.
``We wish to state unequivocally that we are not part of the suit at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.

The Presidency has declared that the Nigerian economy is performing better than the predictions of the International Monetary Fund, IMF. It, however, admitted that the inflation and unemployment rates in the country had remained high despite efforts by the current government.

The Special Adviser to the President on Economic Matters, Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu, stated this in a statement while reacting to the Gross Domestic Product figures for the 2016 second quarter by the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS.

Aero Contractors Airlines, Nigeria's second largest commercial carrier has announced the suspension of its scheduled services beginning from tomorrow Thursday September 1, 2016.
Aero said this “business decision”, which is a result of the current economic situation in the country, had forced some other airlines to suspend operations or pull out of Nigeria.
